ABOUT US
HISTORY
Founded in the 1970s as a W.I. dramatic group, today’s Players were relaunched in 2007 and have built up an increasing number of members, together with a growing reputation. The group is happy to welcome more new faces both on and off stage.
SHOWS & REHEARSALS
The Players deliberately set out to tackle a variety of productions, usually two a year, and thus give both wide audience appeal and a chance for all members to shine. We rehearse onstage - a luxury many groups do not have, at Sedlescombe Village Hall - every Monday evening, and unwind in the pub afterwards.
PROFITS
Most of our profits go towards mounting future shows as well as improving the hall’s stage equipment. However, after every show we also make a donation to a local worthy cause, often with a link to one of our members.
Charities we have supported include :
SPONSORSHIP
We welcome sponsorship for all our shows.
Musicals are notoriously expensive to stage - a live band costs £3000 and royalties £800+ before even considering the normal expenses of hall hire, lighting, sound etc.
A sponsor donation of £400, will give the right to any one show, with the sponsors name appearing on posters & programmes, as well as on our website, Instagram and Facebook page. This also includes two complimentary tickets and the option of advertising in the foyer of the hall during show week.
Alternatively, you can sponsor a page in the programme for £15.
